Good morning,

I appreciate your time and patience, this maybe a silly question, but when doing the windings for a step up transformer, are you allowed to stack the windings? Basically if I want do 30 turns do I have to 30 in a single row, or can I do 3 rows of ten turns stacked on top of each other?

I know this may seem like a stupid question but I very much appreciate your insights.

You can stack the windings.

When dealing with hundreds of volts per layer or more, be careful about the voltage difference between layers. You may have to put down a layer of tape or paper between layers to prevent arcing between layers.
