Hi All,

How do i calculate PCB track width for AC signal as per below specification :

Input - 230+-10%, 50/60Hz
Current - 880mA

Input - 230+-10%, 50/60Hz
Current - 100mA

Thanks

hi,
Look at pages #8 & 9 of this PDF.
Also for the current carrying capability, what 'weight' of copper will your tracks be.? 1oz or 2oz per ft^2 [ thin or thick copper layer]

Thanks !!!
Copper thickness is 2'oz
The calculator you suggested is not giving any idea for 230Vac trace.

hi,
OK, so what track width have you decided to use.? note the Internal and External use, track requirements.
E

BTW: Also consider the minimum Line/Neutral Earth tracks separation from each other and any other tracks [ ps and humidity levels]

Track width = 2mm.
Minimum creepage at connector is 2.1mm b/w Line and Neutral. (As per IEC60335-1)
Minimum creepage at anywhere in board 2.5mm b/w Line and Neutral.

hi,
Looks OK, I have one query, the pads marked with a white line, are they Plated thru holes, if yes, what clearance do you have from what appears to be a Green underlying track.?

Hi,

Could you explain what is External (<3050m) and External (>3050m) in below table.

Thanks

hi,
Page 1 of this PDF explains the difference, eg: surface versus multi layer internal
E

Clip:
A PCB consists of 1 or more layers of insulating plastic with copper wires on top, known as traces which connect the various components. ... The external layers are the top and bottom of the PCB, and the internal layers are placed in-between these.
