Don't complain... good booze is always a good gift!Just had a milestone birthday party, according to the gifts all must have the idea I'm an alcoholic!

He said milestone... that means he's a hundred now...Which birthday Max?
This thread is called, "Tonight's Libation". Your post needs to be moved to "Last Year's Libation".OK, this one's from last summer but it's become a summer favorite of mine.
Behold the Kerr-cumber:
The name comes from a local bartender's spin on this drink.
It's basically a gin and tonic plus mint and cucumber. Instead of straight sugar or bar syrup for sweetness, use add something fruity such as apricot brandy (as above) or Triple sec. Anything to add a hint of fruit along with the sweet.
The said, MILE-stone. What about that word indicated a number ending in zeros? A 100th birthday would be called a kilometer-stone birthday. A milestone birthday would much more likely be 64 or 128.He said milestone... that means he's a hundred now...![]()
I operate in Metric. He said milestone... that means he's a hundred now...![]()
Excuse me... but 64 and 128 don't belong to milestones or k-stones... those are binary-stones...The said, MILE-stone. What about that word indicated a number ending in zeros? A 100th birthday would be called a kilometer-stone birthday. A milestone birthday would much more likely be 64 or 128.
That thing looks great. I'm with @cmartinez gotta try it.OK, this one's from last summer but it's become a summer favorite of mine.

Actually, I've found that if you drink enough, they stop giving you more. So you're good.Just had a milestone birthday party, according to the gifts all must have the idea I'm an alcoholic!

One thing I forgot to mention - the cucumber isn't just a garnish, you muddle some of it as well. This is very close: http://minimalistbaker.com/cucumber-cooler-cocktails/That thing looks great. I'm with @cmartinez gotta try it.

That looks rather delicious...One thing I forgot to mention - the cucumber isn't just a garnish, you muddle some of it as well. This is very close: http://minimalistbaker.com/cucumber-cooler-cocktails/
Meh. It's just the amount of juice you get from crushing some of the tissues of the cucumber. Shaking may make for less pulp in the drink but leaves more flavor trapped in the chunks. Do what works, or what you're in the mood for. What is the difference between shaking and muddling?
I love a good gin. I think that puts me in the minority.Man... I love a good gin and tonic... definitely gonna give this a try. Thanks!
I don't think there's a shortage of gin lovers.I love a good gin. I think that puts me in the minority.
Well I guess I'm there too. Tanqueray over Sapphire for my taste and don't like cucumbers so Hendricks is out. The dry martini is my bar specialty. For spirits, single malt Islay scotch over bourbon puts me in the minority again - at least in TX.I love a good gin. I think that puts me in the minority.
Yes, you are probably also "in the minority" for your mainstream music preferences and taste in cars as well. So unique! I must say, your hipster goal of being unique, is also unique... to you.I love a good gin. I think that puts me in the minority.
Not yet, Just four score! He said milestone... that means he's a hundred now...![]()
