Lately I find myself wanting to ignore certain threads. Does such a capability exist? If not, can one be implemented?

 

This has come up several times before. I would also like such a feature . However, so far the answer has been "No".

It's not that easy, they keep popping up on the top of the list and I have to read them to find the ones that I want to read.

Some of them have been quite dumb lately.

I want mute/ignore thread capability for threads that I haven't responded to and don't want to have to read every time a post is made to one that I don't care to read.

I could put the OP on my ignore list, but sometimes the person in question posts mainly relevant questions. If the person posted mainly meaningless things, for sure I'd ignore them.

I'm looking for something more granular. Another forum I frequent has this capability.

Just click the "new posts", then scroll past the ones you don't want to read. They don't open or even hint to what's in them if you don't mouse over them. Nothing says you have to peek.

I can't ignore them until after I've read the title. The threads I want to ignore aren't even worth the effort it takes to do that.

I could ignore the OP, but I'm looking for something more granular.

 

For those of you who continue to suggest manually ignoring a thread by scrolling past, you just don't get it.

Those undesirable or offensive posts take up space, are distracting, annoying and just a pain in the ass. To some, they are a distraction, do not belong on AAC or provide little information.

I'd like to have the power to customize my feed by ignoring selected threads totally and make my experience valuable.

 

I would love to have an ignore thread feature. Even for threads that are completely valid. There are some threads that seemingly go on forever to discuss the most simple issue. a problem that should have been wrapped up in just a few posts often goes on for dozens of pages.

And then of course there are those few annoying thread in Off Topic that dlsfantasi is referring that should have burned out a long time ago.
