hi Ron,
Reading your post about Sputnik,in 1957, brought back some old memories, I recall using a Short wave receiver at 20MHz to listen to the Bleep - Bleep , every 90 minutes, I was aged 25.

The first and only UK satellite was placed in orbit in 1971, it is still up there somewhere bleeping away.

2008 economic meltdown all airlines stock dropped to record lows except for one airline.
That was Virgin Galactic and when airline people looked at the financials for Virgin they said
wow it must be nice to fly just a few passengers a year and get rated by research rather than productivity.

It does match some of the business models like pilots with pimp jets.

I couldn't remember the frequency. I was 7 years old at the time and my dad, a ham radio operator has us listening to the beeps. His receiver was a National Model 173 which I later inherited when I got my first ham ticket in 1963. I do remember the shock in the US from then and also the Cuban Missal Crisis. Again, I was just a kid but remember neighbors in backyard conversations. Yes, that beep, beep, beep. :)

What I said was that in 2008 the elite company Virgin went unaffectected while all other airlines such as DAL plummeted
what goes on today shows the investment marketing strategies with big enough investors to produce the curves shown.
The choice made by Virgin about who should run the airline raises too many questions in 2008 the investors found safe harbor,
the numbers estimate value as part of gross domestic product but where is the productivity of a stretched limo type business ?

Social media should not be playing such a strong a role in business and politics. The damage caused by elite run companies
the powers that be are creating false reality is opportunist and disrupters rather than promoting good business ethics.
They welcomed the disease that is causing problems and we have to pay them to fix the problems they created.
A good airline leader makes money by hard work and provides competitive service according to supply and demand.
My point is that all the airlines stock in America crashed but virgin airline market value did not go down however more transparency
would give an accurate value by due diligence and not only a few insiders playing Wall street casino. Beware of them.

If someone here really wants to know what it takes to run a corporation at a time like this it requires leadership like this.
