These overhead systems go way back.

I remember fixing (bugs in the wafer lift arm routines that would sometimes drop wafer cassettes if we lost power and restarted the control computer) the Japanese BASIC program that transported (DAIFUKU) 5 inch/125mm wafers across the fab to the storage stockers.. The master computer (that had a database of all wafers and process step moves) was a FUJITSU PC with 10BASE5 (thicknet 10 MHz coax) and each stocker (with its own independent cleanroom) robotic system was controlled by the same type of PC with racker slave software.

I did not watch that vid yet, but right off the bat I can see that they are using extreme wording to get attention so somebody watches it. That's not to say it is good or bad, just that they talk with that "Wow-ness" factor that almost always leads to a dead end of nothingness (ha ha). Not all of them are like that, but I tend to shy away from those that use extreme wording rather than "This is an interesting change" or, "Chip manufacturers may be changing their outlook on the future".

The other thing I think I see is that they may not know what KIND of chips X is going to make. It appears that he is limiting to certain chips that the other company may not be making anyway (but not sure about this yet).
Of course they may just be worried that another foundry is popping up. Another foundry is a BIG change in this world, so we'll have to wait and see what happens. It could be good or it could be bad (for us as individuals).
