I stated an obvious fact that most of America is actually not like what you said. My usage of the word 'brainwashing' was to say, it wasn't your fault, to believe that because that's what's been nonstop presented in most media as America in general.

It's not just the 'liberal media', it's all media with conservative media being among the worst in presenting America as a hellhole to sell soap and get clicks.

The American Dream in general is just fine, thank you. Thousands per day trying to get here illegally to escape poverty means IMO, the US must still be something to dream about.
The American Dream is not about money or getting ahead in life. The American Dream is about living your life to the fullest — that is, attaining one’s personal goals, unrestrained by the government.
