That time of year again...

Classic YouTube.

"I'm especially gutted because so much thought, time, money, and effort went into building the device and I hope this doesn't just taint the entire effort as 'fake,'" writes Rober in text placed underneath the video. "It genuinely works (like all the other things I've built on my channel) and we've made all the code and build info public."

That's like saying "Gone with the Wind" was faked because it was staged. So what?
I agree it was pretty good acting that also screwed the engineers of the actual device but funny low-life thief reactions, yes, real low-life thief reactions, no. They would have crushed the package with the car while doing a burnout.

I suspected a fake right off with the one shot of the "thief" picking up the package (package was in shot)in the "thief's" home. So how would you get that shot when the camera is inside the package?

And someone is going to risk loosing 3 smart phones? I know they are cheap. But still.

The Chinese directive to all companies and individuals is to provide all available intelligence to its government:

...Huawei is much more than an innocent manufacturer of smartphones.
It is a spy agency of the Chinese Communist Party.
How do we know?
Because the party has repeatedly said so.
First in 2015 and then again in June 2017, the party declared that all Chinese companies must collaborate in gathering intelligence.

Maybe that's not such a great idea.
Good thing his trade craft was non-existent. Any idiot with two seconds training would have grabbed the data and left the country without notice. They really need to train their people better in the future.

Per the criminal complain he communicated about the theft with his own company laptop and gave them two weeks' notice he was headed to China.

You were scared when I stopped you. You were visibly shaking and breathing hard. Unfortunately, you were scared one minute too late and for the wrong reason. You should have been scared that you were trying to kill yourself. I know you’re invincible. I know that you can’t even fathom your own death.

I can tell you dozens of stories of dead and broken 18 year old bodies that I’ve pulled from cars. Broken bodies that I’ve found in front yards after crashes. Unrecognizable bodies. They thought they were invincible too. They weren’t. They were gone so they missed the part where I had to tell their parents that they were dead. Part of your soul disappears every time you have to tell parents that their kid is dead.

Someone that drives at 100 MPH isn't going to care and look at this as preaching. They will likely be angry rather than learn from it. Sad to say.

Which begs the question of why my speedometer on my Subaru Forester goes from 0 to 150MPH with 20 mile major tick marks. I will never , ever exceed 80mph let alone drive at 150MPH. All that wasted gauge real estate makes it difficult to read.
