At the intersection of all things...
just ... wowFor context, today’s global cloud consumes 10-fold more electricity than all the world’s EVs combined. Even if EV adoption expands at the rate that the bulls think, the cloud will still outpace that electricity demand, by a lot, especially now that AI hardware is being added rapidly to the Cloud infrastructure.
These kind of stories make me appreciate the boring flat lands I live in. I would be an idiot to say that there is not a problem, but for the most part the only businesses that close are either due to lack of sales, or the owners retire. Typically only the normal security measures are in place for high ticket items like electronics and restricted sales type items. Up the road a bit there are a few stores by rougher neighborhoods that are a little more secure, but not to the extent of what is normally shown in these stories.
Ironically, that's also how you die.
And in the end ... we all reach the same destination anyway. It's what you leave behind for others what counts, IMO ...Ironically, that's also how you die.

Unable to seize the crew, the pirates boarded a skiff and headed toward Yemen. Guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG-87) and an unidentified Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force ship responded to the incident, the defense official confirmed. The crew of Mason pursued the skiff as it headed toward Yemen with the ship’s embarked helicopter and ultimately detained the five for questioning, the official confirmed.
Just a random thought. I've been to the Arabian Sea, passed the Strait of Hormuz but I can't find the Arabian Gulf on an official map.The USS Mason is part of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, which on Sunday completed a transit of the Strait of Hormuz to enter the waters of the Arabian Gulf, as the aircraft carrier and its strike group are brought to support CENTCOM missions in the region.
