The video -- Death by China.

I think the situation is similar in Taiwan, most of manufactures from Taiwan moved to China, so the people in Taiwan lost the jobs, also, the very cheap products import from China, causes the things getting more worse.

It's all about making money.
Most of the people in the world (including US and Taiwan) aren't rich. So to sell into those markets price is king.
Here is a US example:

The average American household had a median income of barely $50,000 in 2011, according to the latest Census figures released last week. That’s just enough to shop at stores like Walmart and Old Navy, emporiums of cheap imported goods.
Take the classic “Born in the USA” outfit: blue jeans, white T-shirt, work boots. The three items, all USA-made, cost $421: domestic-made Levi’s 501s ($178), American Apparel white T-shirt ($18) and classic Red Wing work boots ($225). The same outfit with imported goods is far cheaper: Brahma-brand work boots from Walmart ($33), a white Hanes T-shirt ($6) and Gap classic blue jeans ($60) add up to cost less than $100.

Most everyone has to much crap already. Brainwashing media ads telling us we need even MORE, new and improved crap v2.0.
Too bad.
I blew my savings on a bottle of whiskey and a Russian hooker.
Still popular and they don't even run TVads. :)

You just have to watch the Public TV documentary, 'Is Wall-Mart Good for America'.!.:(
Max.
Thanks, Max. Very interesting.
It brought a flashback. Towards the end they were building Tube TV's (2004). I bought one of those big guys around 2000. 42 inch weighing in at about 300 pounds. Paid about $1300 for it. About 2 years ago I bought the same size for I think $340. It's hard to figure out where the break even point is for everyone involved.

Scott,
Why are your manufactures moving to the mainland? If they didn't would they go out of business because of labor rates or is it to be next door to the builders or ?????

The First wave to moved were the lowest technical business as clothing manufactures, the workers should be work very hard and sitting there all day long, so more young ages(girls) don't want to join that kind of business, and some more other business followed, and the end are the computers and laptops, the makers for the cost down and labor rates going down for manufacturing, the service business more developing in Taiwan, more young ages joined to working for service than make, also the law more strict, the people more care about the environments, the air pollutions, noise, salary, etc.

And the China with us also have the language and distance benefits, so why the Boss chose moved to there, now in EE components, whatever online shops or local stores you can't easy to buy the products MIT(Made In Taiwan). because the prices, you can easily to buy the ee products online from China as Taobao, the pricing is charming as the girls to attract you to buy, but you can't make sure the quality that you buy.
