The pets of AAC...

Yes, the day we let them into our lives we know the day for goodbye will come. Since losing my wife a few years ago when my boy Pilgrim passes I will not be getting anymore dogs. Heck, I'll be 77 in a few months.

I can't imagine a life without a (big) dog.

There's a bunch waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge, and there'll be more before my time is up.

Oh geeze Ron I didn't know Kathy had passed. Very very sorry to hear that.
I guess we have to find a way to go on, and the doggies can help with that, but unfortunately their lives are very limited. According to my recent readings about a dogs age compared to a humans age, a dog of 14 years is in their 70's. It used to be 7 years for every 1 dog year, which would would have made him 98, but the new study came up with that different formula which is more realistic.
I have a neighbor with a dog that is also 14 years old and he is still very active, much more so than a 98 year old human would be I think, so I tend to believe the new study and the new approximate age comparison. He is a small dog though and I think there is a difference between larger and smaller dogs too. Myself and other neighbors are hoping he can live a lot longer but you never know.
