Good experimental evidence that you can't teach cats anything.

If I decided that I wanted to eliminate the cats, I would not try to educate them, and you would not find out about it here.
Right now, they are merely a curiosity. Why do they hang out where the highest level of attention they get is being ignored?
Don't their owners have cars they can hide under?
It simply puzzles me that every time I open an outside door, I see a cat leaving.
The best I can figure is that Cat Headquarters is under my car and somecat needs to be on duty at all times.

 

I don't believe I've ever packed a bag without this happening. Talk about a cat magnet.

Will do, although Luca's nose has always been a soft pink (though not that pale) thanks for the tip... and they actually speak and understand Attitudian, which my wife has mastered to the point of being perfectly fluid at it...

Dogs bark, they're smelly (even stinky) and will leave their feces laying around the house... I know you're a dog person, and that you're well versed in their training. Dogs give you their unconditional love for free, and can be literally loyal to death. They're also probably the smartest species after the primates.
Cats, on the other hand, are much cleaner (although shedding can be an issue), will always use the sandbox, will not impregnate their BO in the furniture (though they will scratch it heavily if they're not de-clawed) and will make you actually earn their ever-selfish love, if they think you're worthy.

I don't dislike dogs, it's just that I'm a cat person because they're much easier to own, among other reasons.

 

I like cats... Their fur makes such warm gloves!


This is Biscuit. He is 20 months old. He is own by a friend, but I am his pack leader. Whenever he gets out of line at his home, he is sent to me, where we have a great ol' time together.

We have an update. Not as simple as a water sprayer, not even practical, but still a fun video.

Well, I don't dislike cats. I just don't understand them.
I had a cat living here at one time. It was neutered and de-clawed. Very nice cat. Liked to climb the back of my recliner and nap on my head.
That's how he earned his name... "Crazy Cat". Crazy Cat thinks he's a hat.
Unfortunately, the girl was crazier than the cat, so they had to go.

I would like to mention that my nephew gave me a beautiful, Italian leather couch that had been abandoned. After it was in the house and got warm, I knew why it had been abandoned! The cat odor was so bad that I cut it up with a saw and threw it out in pieces, completely convinced that nobody would ever want a couch that smelled so bad it would make your eyes water.

So, there you have it. Some cats like to pee on couches.

Well, my cat's definitely overweight, but last time I took him to the vet, he said that other than that, he was quite healthy... but I'll ask him again, this time specifically about his pale nose, see what he says... thanks again

EDIT: His nose is actually a shade pinkier than it looks in the pic

 

I wouldn't worry about it. He's obviously fair complected. My cat was very ill with other symptoms before we noticed her nose, pads and such going pale.
