2005 I think it was. Anaheim CA. Boy he was looking old and tired. Met him. Shook his hand. Very sad to hear of his passing. 76 years old. He had a fun life. His winding down was sad though. Had to sell off his props. Would have loved to own even one. However, I DID make my own Sledg-O-Matic. Never smashed edibles though.

They say "The Light overpowers darkness." But what they fail to recognize is that light requires power. When the power is gone - darkness is eternal.

It's the other way around..
Dark is the power.

BELL LAB PROVES EXISTENCE OF DARK SUCKERS!

For years it has been believed that electric bulbs emitted light. However,
recent information from Bell Labs has proven otherwise. Electric bulbs
don't emit light; they suck dark. Thus they now call these bulbs dark
suckers. The dark sucker theory, according to a spokesman from the Labs,
proves the existence of dark, that dark has mass heavier than that of
light, and that dark is faster than light.

The basis of the dark sucker theory is that electric bulbs suck dark. Take
for example the dark suckers in the room where you are. There is less dark
right next to them than there is elsewhere. The larger the dark sucker,
the greater its capacity to suck dark. Dark suckers in a parking lot have
a much greater capacity than the ones in this room.

https://phys.org/news/2024-01-efficiency-asymmetry-scientists-fundamental-cooling.html

Speaking of their motivation behind exploring such a fundamental topic, Prof. Alarcón told Phys.org, "Since childhood, I've been intrigued by why heating is more efficient than cooling. And have questions like: 'Why don't we have a device like a microwave oven for fast cooling?'"
I've got my doubts. If such an asymmetry existed, there would not be a linear temperature gradient along a bar whose ends are fixed at different temperatures.
