There are so many COVID-19 cases in America compared with Mexico, the Mexicans are contemplating building a wall to stop the Americans from coming in.

Perhaps they have already -- and you just don't know it. Cases are spiking mostly due to increased testing.

Practically nonexistent, government-wise. Only private medical institutions have access to them at this point. To say that public medicine sucks down here is an understatement. However, private institutions are among the best in the world (one of the reasons we have a fledgling medical tourism industry)

So far, there's been 20 confirmed cases, two of which have been in my hometown. Both of them from people that just got back from Spain.

But as you say, the number of confirmed cases is very different from the number of unconfirmed cases.

One thing in our favor though, is that after all this news cycle we've become very self aware of our behavior, hygiene-wise, and are already taking strong measures to try to keep this thing from exploding in our faces. For instance, most public places are almost empty and people are staying home as much as they can.

Up north we’re hopeful that there’s a seasonal effect and that it might fade away as the weather warms. Watching what happens in Texas and Mexico should give an idea if there’s hope for that.
