I am posting the following video as a joke -- in the jokes thread.

It is funny. Really funny. Somebody put a lot of work into this.

No political commentary is intended -- and I will not respond to any political replies.

I certainly hope the mods don't delete this and deprive others of the great chuckle I got out of it.

Now, with the preliminaries out of the way, let's get on with the movie:

One dark and foggy night, I was walking on a narrow country road, when out of the fog appeared a small car moving very slowly, and no sound.

I jumped to the side of the road but as it it drew level, it stopped! Through the windows I could see no one, no driver, nothing. I looked closer and then opened the passenger door, bracing myself to climb in. Immediately the car started tomove again, jut as slowly!

I froze, kneeling on the seat clutching his back. Moments later, the car stopped and I almost fell out. As I scrambled to my feet, a ghostly, shambling figure of a a man, drifted towards me out of the fog and I screamed out: Oh God,there is something wrong about this car!

The shadowy figure stopped. It gasped and then a voice croaked: I know that. I have been pushing it for half a mile!

Humor lost in translation.

I pos

I translated nothing myself. Just transcribed what I believe is a joke in somewhat reasonable good English.
 ... he didn't get it, Agustín .... but I don't blame him ... foreign humor is an acquired taste. For instance, it took me a while to appreciate Monthy Python (though I always found Benny Hill hilarious) ... on the other hand, most anglo-speakers I know find Mafalda hard to understand, and I've always thought that Mr Quino is one of the best cartoonists of all time.

I can tell there's a joke in there, but just enough was 'off' in the telling to spoil the timing and the reveal. "Clutching his back"? Who's back? It just wasn't smooth.
