Workers who are consistently not in compliance have been told they will be "voluntarily resigning" and locked out of company computers.
"A number of people I've seen theorized that the reason we were doing this is, it's a backdoor layoff, or we made some sort of deal with city or cities," said Jassy, according to a transcript of the meeting reviewed by Reuters.
"I can tell you both of those are not true. You know, this was not a cost play for us. This is very much about our culture and strengthening our culture," he said.
I'm OK with that....mandate is 'backdoor layoff'...
Andreessen—reportedly worth almost $2 billion per Forbes—reposted the comment, adding, "The one thing you should never, ever, ever do is bring your full self. Leave your full self at home where it belongs and act like a professional and a grownup at work and in public."
I can understand in some cases. This is the daily grind walking to work in downtown Portland. There are limits to the study, however. The researchers noted that the study "cannot draw causal inferences based on our setting." Further, smaller firms and firms outside of the high-tech and financial industries may show different results. Although not mentioned in the report, relying on data from a social media platform could also yield inaccuracies, and the number of skills listed on a LinkedIn profile may not accurately depict a worker's skill level.

By the time Renata Leo’s parents were 31, the age she is now, they had gotten married, purchased a home and had her. Yet she is still sleeping in her childhood bedroom, gazing at the same unicorn wallpaper put up before she was born.
“Redecorating would mean accepting that I’m not leaving,” says Leo, who has been back home in Glassboro, N.J., since graduating college in 2015 with $20,000 in student-loan debt.
Graduating college with what degree? Daydreaming? We're supposed to sympathize with her because she had $20k in student loan debt. If she devoted $1/hr of her pay from a full-time job to paying toward the principal, she'd already be out of debt. If she just applied $8/day, five days a week, it would be gone. Even working fast-food she should be able to do that, especially since she's still living at home!says Leo, who has been back home in Glassboro, N.J., since graduating college in 2015 with $20,000 in student-loan debt.
Alas ... the average life expectancy in the US was only 35 years back then
That doesn't mean people lived to 35 and died.Alas ... the average life expectancy in the US was only 35 years back then
Back then, it was more a function of diet than anything else. Also, affluent people tend to live longer.
(unless you are shot in the back by some coward)
