The application of Current source and Current sink current mirror

    I have read the article on current mirror and understood that current mirror using PMOS can be used as current source and current mirror using NMOS can be used as a current sink.

    I am not sure, where can I use current sink current mirror and where current source current mirror in the circuit.

    Could you please clarify me this?

    Just put it into your mental toolbox as one building block to be used when needed.

    They are commonly used in the internal structure of op amps, particularly for the input differential stage, but they pup up many places.

    Once I needed a dropping resistor between a variable input voltage and a regulator, but given the relatively large swing of the input the resistor needed to be a low value which led to a large power loss at hi inputs. The solution was to replace it with a current source.

    That's not something you will find in any textbook.
