If we tests transistor from middle pin, assuming it base, to another pin gets Open Loop (OL), would it indicate a defect/broken transistor if test it to the next pin gets some sound voltages (more or less 1 V)?

hi,
OK,
If you get an o/c reading between the Base and either the Collector or Emitter it could mean the transistor is faulty,
Which type of transistor are you testing.?

The base to emitter junction and base to collector junction in a BJT transistor both act like diodes, When you use a diode tester, check them both in both directions by intrchanging the test leads. In one direct it will read around 0.7V. In the other it will real OL on a good transistor
