FOAB is a different type of bomb, that supposedly has 4 times the power of MOAB, but it has not been confirmed to actually exist, btw:

I don't think it's a hoax. Russia has designed and used FAE & thermobaric bombs in combat before.
https://www.hrw.org/report/2000/02/01/backgrounder-russian-fuel-air-explosives-vacuum-bombs
Fuel-air explosives were first developed, and used in Vietnam, by the United States. Soviet scientists, however, quickly developed their own FAE weapons, which were reportedly used against China in a 1969 border conflict and in Afghanistan. Since then research and development has continued and currently Russian forces field a wide array of third-generation FAE warheads.

In addition to classic FAE munitions, Soviet scientists have also developed other "enhanced-blast" munitions, particularly reactive-surround and slurry-explosive blast warheads. Both types of warheads work on the same principle by which the explosive is dispersed and mixed with atmospheric oxygen before the detonation process is completed. The destruction, death, and injury are caused by the blast wave. Reactive-surround warheads are thin-walled containers filled with combustible aluminum and nitrocellulose. Slurry-explosive warheads are a mixture of a high explosive or other explosive solid mixed with a combustible liquid.
They are the worlds experts at thermobaric weapons large and small.

According to this it should be over in a few months.:D
The US anti-ISIS envoy said the campaign has winnowed ISIS' ranks to between 12,000 and 15,000 "battle ready" fighters, a top US official said on Tuesday.
The figures mean the US and its coalition partners have taken out vastly more ISIS fighters in Iraq and Syria than currently remain on the battlefield, two years since the bombing campaign began. Last week a US official said the coalition had killed 50,000 militants since 2014.

Well they have the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-225_Mriya which can carry something like 560,000 pounds so I guess that sets the present limit on who can drop the biggest if they care to build it.
Interesting... the Spruce Goose had a longer wingspan (97.54 m vs 88.4 m) but was shorter (66.65 m vs 84 m). On the other hand, the cargo that this russian monster can carry is more than three times larger! (180,000 kg vs 640,000 kg, fully loaded weight)

I've flown (From Diego Garcia to Clark Air base, 3700 miles in a seat designed for much shorter trips ) in the C5 Galaxy (similar in design and function to the AN). You're not dropping one package close to max carry capacity from them in mid-flight. They both could drop 4 42,000 pound Sheridan tanks easily.

According to a retired general, that bomb ,MOAB is only really good in conditions like it was used in Afghanistan, a valley surrounded by mountains. It needs a surround to keep the shock wave contained. Other than the casing it has no shrapnel. Though skyscrapers might be enough, didn't catch the generals name.

FAE bombs are good for a lot of things. The original 'Daisy Cutter' configuration worked perfectly well in jungle to clear a landing zone. You can see the condensation from the tropical humid air as the shock-wave travels.

FRESNO, Calif. (KABC) --
A gunman who walked through Fresno randomly shooting and killing three men screamed "Allahu Akbar" while being taken into custody, according to authorities.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said 39-year-old Kori Ali Muhammad first opened fire on a passenger inside a PG&E truck in the 300 block of North Van Ness Boulevard at about 10:45 a.m.
...
Muhammad was wanted in connection with a shooting death at a Motel 6 that occurred last week, according to police.

Muhammad, who police said has a prior criminal history, had previously posted to Facebook that he didn't like white people and expressed several anti-government sentiments, Dyer said.

All the victims, who were randomly targeted, were white, according to police. Officials were still working to identify the victims.

Undercover agent.

An FBI translator with a top-secret security clearance traveled to Syria in 2014 and married a key ISIS operative she had been assigned to investigate, CNN has learned.
The rogue employee, Daniela Greene, lied to the FBI about where she was going and warned her new husband he was under investigation, according to federal court records.

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/d...xplosions-heard-u-k-concert-featuring-n763286
At least 20 people were killed and possibly hundreds of others were injured after one or more loud bangs were heard Monday night at an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena in England, multiple law enforcement told NBC News.

Multiple U.S. officials briefed on the investigation so far said preliminary reports indicate that a single explosion took place outside the arena on the southwest side opposite the Manchester Victoria transit station, which is part of the greater arena complex.

The explosion occurred as the concert ended, catching people as they exited.
