Hi.
My TV behaving crazy; changing volume up and down by itself at any moment, flipping channels up and down at any moment. Fully disabling the remote does not fix it or / and fully covering with black tape the infrared sensor does not fix it either.
Weird it does not do the same with other 'commands' , weird that the infrared codes are not a simple flashes but complex codes for each command and still happens. Opened the TV, unplugged its buttons control panel and will stay vigilant of behavior.

Been on several hours now, with no failure. Volume does not change nor channels flip endlessly. The tiny side board with tact buttons for manual operation left disconnected from the rest of the circuitry.
For the 7 buttons panel : volume + -, channel + -, menu, power, source, the connection is only 3 wires. Has to be the supply rails and output.
Sheety modernism garbage circuitry of saving half a cent in whatever by fitting resistors of different values to each button and a controller reads their value in firmware to assign the command. *
Seen a couple of TVs with the same misbehavior of pressing 'menu' or something button and acting 'up or down' instead.
Savings is a few cm. of 0.2mm cable causing a failure that if you are not into electronics, means filling the garbage can as abuse in repair$ are more expensive than a new TV.

* I suspect it is like (+)--------------R------------._.------------out--------------RC--------------(-)
for each button '--._.--' , different voltages readings at 'out' from varied R values tells which button is pressed...:rolleyes:
