Been a stressful year for me lots of nightmares of people coming to take me away.
If you are really worried about this, and are in the US, this might help.

I had a relative who was being held captive in a nursing home and wanted to go home. I did a bit of research on the topic. The only way you can be forced to receive medical “help” against your will is through a court order. And, unless you are charged with a crime, that is only by being declared incompetent, which results in the court appointing a guardian. If you are stuck in a facility that refuses to let you go, you have a right to leave at any time. The only recourse for the facility has is to file a court action to declare you incompetent and have them appointed guardian, which they are unlikely to do for obvious reasons.

In our case, once she, at our suggestion, asserted her right to leave, the facility cooperated. Before that, they had her convinced that she had no say in it.

If it becomes a real worry, I suggest lining up a lawyer.

I'm trans, with all the hate spewing from Texas state gov. and the Feds It tends to make for a lot of anxiety. It doesn't help that I'm almost an invalid. When this started back in 2024 I figured I just put my head down in endure but it does wear on me.
