Ahh, now i got it, so photo-resistive sensors will work like bypass for microphones. Not sure how well it will work, because it will never turn one mic completely off. But i can try it.

It may not completely switch off a microphone, but it will certainly not produce any clicks. And the other benefit is it will not require any external power source or electronics assembly. It is about the simplest method available.
