Hello,
I'm looking for a method of surge protection able to pass IEC 61000-4-5 (4kv Surge).
My interrest is focused on the serial association of GDT + MOV.
I would like to have more information about it in order to understand how this is working.
I was said that MOV's reacting faster while GDT's holding more energy.
That's seems nice though i don't get how the MOV can be passing if the GDT isn't ? So what am i missing ?
Also how exactly the GDT helps with his energy capacity while they are both conducting and sustaining the same current ?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Benjamin.
