Wall is concrete, block or brick behind the laundry equipment. Pipes are surface mounted, not recessed in the wall. Does this box exist in not insertion type ? Have you ever seen one ? Most of the planet does not build hollow walls with studs and gypsum. What do they use for the task ?

Likely they just mount the faucets on the wall with no box.

 

It's called a wall mount hose bib...
