I'm having some trouble locating a supplier of red LED's, any wavelength greater than 650 nm but less than infrared (so within the visible spectrum). All that I've seen seem to be in the ballpark of around 620 - 630 nm, I'm guessing due to the characteristic emission properties of whatever material is most typically used to produce this color (in many cases vendors don't even state the frequency/wavelength range either, which doesn't help).

I do have a limited idea of certain types of materials that might produce light within this range, but other than a gazillion search results from scientific articles (just google something like "zinc oxide gallium phosphide light emitting diode" and you'll see what I mean), nothing really in the way of possible supply sources.

Any ideas?
