I have a question for anyone out there. I am trying to make a step down transformer work. It is 480 primary and 240 secondary. I cannot figure out how to wire it. The label is confusing and I have never done this before. Anyone?

 

Have you got a meter? The primary will probably have a few more ohms resistance than the secondary. How many leads are there?

 

Do you have a picture of the connections? And labels? Model number? etc

 

Hi is this a double wound transformer? Two separate windings? If it is identify each coil, apply 240 volts to either winding if you get 480volts on the other winding , you would have identified the respective windings if you get 120volts instead the windingss are reversed.
