STC-1000 temoerature controller

I have a temperature controller STC-1000 is designed for 220VAC. I'd like to install it in the car, at 12VDC. I see that they are put in a transformer that lowers the voltage from 220V to 10Vac ... how can I connect this to 12VDC? please help me to fix this ...
