J-K flip-flop is a clocked circuit. It needs a clock signal to change state.
S-R flip-flop operates from static DC level inputs.

Different FF's for different purposes.
There is also a D flip-flop.
Study their functional operation and you will better understand their use and purpose.

In a historical context, I could ask the converse question. If we have the SR flip-flop, why do we need the JK flip-flop. The answer is they provide different capabilities in exchange for different levels of circuit complexity.

Confusion arises when people use flip flop and latch interchangeably.

Flip flops use clocks, latches don't.
