Hi all,

Im using the attached circuit to convert 220AC to 12VDC.
Sometimes when i plug it in, i can see sparks in R0 and L0. Is that normal? How could i prevent them?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Alex

Welcome to AAC.

I am sorry but that kinda circuits are not allowed here.
Transformerless or non isolated mains operated devices are not discussed on AAC.

As @R!f@@ says, we don't allow transformerless power supplies due to the inherent safety hazards. This restriction is clearly called out in the Terms of Service/User Agreement.
There are any number of small, cheap wall wart switchers that will do what you want. CUI Stack makes them and you can get them at Mouser or Digikey among others.
