That's what he would like to fix.I thought the blast from the tank is not supposed to sound like the click of a lighter.
Space and power is a problem inside the model tank.My 3" computer speakers are in pretty big enclosures, have pretty big magnets and are driven with 3.5W each. They can make the sound of a tank blast very well.
Were there more room, a butane cylinder, some PVC pipe, timed valve, and an ignition system would make for a very convincing simulation - complete with flames.
That would be neat, but the EPA frowns on such things.Just think how good the realism will be if some smoke is added to each blast.
I used to have a Lionel steam engine with smoke. However, it was a white smoke. A small white pellet was placed into the smokestack, which had a Nichrome heating element on top of a pump-type device. The movement of the con rods moved a lever which pumped air in and out of the smokestack, past the melting pellet.I have seen toy trains with smoke.
The smoke from the 88mm gun was probably more gray to black in color.
