Hello,

I'm trying to repair a Sony Midi Hi-Fi which isn't reading CDs properly. I have already tried a lens cleaner.

I have removed the entire CD assembly and found that the laser pickup is a KSS-240A. Can any of the three potentiometers on the pickup be adjusted/recalibrated?

Have you tried loading a cd and seeing if the motor speed up or just twitches??

 

Occasionally it will attempt to play a track but then skip continuously.

 

Does anyone have other suggestions?
