Sony AMP IC Replacement

This part is no longer stocked (I checked Encompas parts who are a Sony parts distributor). This part is common across many Sony models however so your best bet may to be to locate another unit somewhere and salvage this part there.

Dan, Thanks for responding, good to know Sony built something they don't stand behind. Think it's time to maybe salvage the speakers and move on to a newer amp. Just curious do the other componets look like good replacements for existing parts. The LARGE CAPACITORS with a difference in uF values (which I do not understand) was main concern. Thanks again, Poppa D

This unit is 20 years old. Manufacturers carry replacement parts for 5 years or more. Standing behind the unit is not an issue here for something that old. Since the part is likely a Sony specific one, there is no incentive for others to make or carry these. Power supplies have changed designs over the years and this type is no longer used. I will check my stock to see if I have one around and update this if I locate one.

Dan, Okay I understand, just like to tinker with electronics, but have decided just to purchase a new amp and maybe get 10 years or so (will be 85+) if I last that long!!!

Okay as I understand IC1901 is converting DC 9.7 into two values 3.3 and 2.6 is there any way to do this other than the single IC component?

IC901 is low voltage regulator powering up the digital board.
I believe a short in the digital board would result in IC901 heating up.

Put 2 voltage regulators on a small board and use male header pins, or similar, to match the pinout for the original component.

Here's something I made to replace the power supply section of a Willem EPROM programmer:
