As posted earlier I intend on building a guitar amp and I am thinking of using a TL071 pre amp followed by a LM741 tone control and a LM1875 power amplifier I found the attached schematics are they all right or do I have to make changes also what is soft start ?
P.S. Sorry if I posted in the wrong section. ;P

Hello,

I would also use the TL071's in the tone control in stead of the LM741.
Or use a TL074 (wich contains 4 opamps) for preamp and tonecontrol, to make it more compact.

Power rating of resistor is determined by the calculated power dissipated by the resistor. Select a power rating that is 1.5 or 2 times the calculated power rating.

Here is quick look-up chart to help you determine the required power rating. Use the rating at the next higher wattage.

For example, a 1kΩ resistor has 10V across the resistor.
Power dissipated P = V x V / R = 100/1000 = 0.1 W = close to 1/8 W
Use ¼ W resistor.
