I am not saying that this is to be done but something I learnt by doing the opposite operation (desoldering components for salvage): preheating the board allowed to use a common iron.
Of course, extending the idea, I ended using a heating gun with the PCB upside down.
When tapping hard, most of them fell easily.
After all, isn't the last Wendy's project precisely a board heating "skillet"?
