Soldering to the copper underneath a damaged pad?

Hi everyone,

I’ve posted about the following or at least similar before, however I was a bit confused at the time, so I’d like to rephrase.

A few years ago I damaged solder pads/points on a board by using an inadequate soldering iron to solder wires to the board for modding purposes.. The points now look like this unfortunately:

Now my question is, is there any way I can still use these points? One alternative is to solder to the VIAs on the other side of the board, however I’d prefer it if I could rather find a way to use these points (if possible).

Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of the following, but I noticed if I lightly scrape off the left-over adhesive I can get to copper, it’s actually a ring once all of it is off. Can I solder to the copper or MUST the pads be replaced for me to connect wires to the board?

I’d appreciate any input, thanks.

In what way are the pads damaged, have they lifted from the board ?

Is scraping the soldermask and soldering to a track an option ?
The pads have been burnt off, it seems.

There are traces that can be soldered to, but most of them are on the other side of the board, which is something I'd like to avoid if possible. It would make things easier/neater.

You can solder direct to the cleaned copper, another way if there is a large enough pad is to drill a hole just large enough for the conductor and feed the wire through from the non-foil side if needed.
Max.
