Solder 2 DIV male ends together

As the title suggests, I am trying to take an integrated DVI-D Male Cable and solder the pins to a DVI-D adapter. My goal is to have a temporary working setup until my actual adapter arrives. I planned on just stacking the male ends and just solder each pin to its corresponding pin on the opposite connector. 1 to 1, 2 to 2, etc... All I have is some cat6 TIP cable that I can steal word strands from. I had planned on hammering the copper wire ends a bit to make them flatter for pin soldering. My overall goal is to be able to de solder all the wires and clean all the pins up and be able to use the new adapter when it arrives. If I end up destroying the cable or the monitor in the process, it's not a big deal. I only paid $25 for it.

So, has anyone ever done something similar to this?

Forgot to post an update. It works! Its the worst soldering job of my life but it works without interference. I used hot glue and zip ties to secure the 2 adapters back to back. Then I just matched each pin with a 1 inch piece of Cat6 wire.
