Just drawing a box for a relay does not show how it is connected. You need to show which wires go to the coil and which go to the NO, NC and common contacts.

Les.
I numbered the terminals on the relay in my drawing
85- tracker (w +)
86 tracker neg
30- 36v power supply
87- actuator
87a rest (noT used ?)

The numbers don't mean anything to me. Can you relate the numbers to the coil and the contacts ? Or put your numbers on a copy of the diagram in post #13. Or Post the data sheet on the relay.

Hmm maybe a dpdt relays might be better suited
No.
You need 2 SPDT relays as shown in the earlier circuit.
It is correct. Only one relay is operated at a time, and that one depends on the controller output direction. That is why there is a diode in series with each relay coil.
The way the relay contacts are wired is the classic H Bridge configuration, used widely to control motors just as you are trying to do.
Just follow the advice given.

You do not need a DPDT relay. You need TWO SPDT relays. (You could use a DPDT relays but just use one of the two sets of changeover contacts.) Now that Bernard has tied up the numbers on your relays with the contacts and coil you can wire the contacts (Pins 30 (Common), 87 (NO) and 87a (NC)) up as shown in his diagram in post #13. The coils (Pins 85 and 86) should be conneced as shown in KW's post #12. You may find the actuator works in the opposite direction to the required direction. If so just reverse the wires to the actuator.

But if you just go with the circuit of #12 and #13, you save a relay and 2 diodes.
All that is needed is the 2 relays and 2 diodes.
Do you need the circuit drawn out?

Added above :)
Note the diodes are connected the opposite way to each other so only one relay operates at a time.
I'm off to bed now. It is late here. I hope you get it going ok.
