sizing of a heatsink

Awww .... what I was planning is to literally cut 1" off the back of the light housing.

I would then attach a 1/4" flat aluminum plate to the back ... a couple of L brackets and some epoxy to seal it tight. This would make a new flat back on the housing.

I would then mount the LED's on the inside and the heat sinks on the outside ( screw to hold them tight .... heat sink grease between all).

Hmmmm ..... sounds like a lot of work even writing it down .....

I just figure for say $14 per head, I am getting a 100 Watt LED work light.

Since I need six, I am looking at a total investment of about $100.

If I could buy 100 W heads at even $20 or $25 I would probably go for it.

******* OK just took another good look .....

I found some "cheap" heads ... 100 Watt .... if you buy 8 you get them for $16 each.

I will need to get an inline switch or put a plug on the end but even at $20 each worth not going through hours or work.

I know they are cheap but they are only work lights .... I won't be putting a lot of hours on them. With luck they won't burn up too soon.

Thanks for every ones help!

Mike
