sim800l module power supply

Hello,
I am trying to build a custom circuit, and I want to power 10 sim800l modules with some kind of rechargable battery. The module needs between 3.8V - 4.2V and it can draw a maximum of 2A. Would 2 lithium 18650 batteries be enough to power them in worst case scenario( all of them drawing 2A)?
Module datasheet: https://components101.com/sites/default/files/component_datasheet/SIM800L-Datasheet.pdf
Sorry for the badly formulated question I'm don't have much experience with electronics.

Welcome to AAC.

You will not get 16A out of 2 18650s without a serious voltage drop. An 18650 for each module with a boost converter would work. A larger battery, like a high capacity LiPo with a buck converter would work too.

16A is a lot of current. You will need at least 14GA wire for the power bus if you use one source.

Thanks for the answer,
how many modules do you think 2 18650s could realistically handle without a voltage drop. I don't really need all of them working at max at the same time so maybe I could somehow switch between them and leave the unused ones in powersaving mode.

There are some questions. What run time are you expecting? Why 18650s? How will you charge them?

I think I would look for a 1S2P LiPo pack, possibly one designed for RC cars You should be able to find one with high capacity which you probably don't need for the runtime but do need for the peak demand. I would say, without enough information and so it is as good as a guess, that you could do 4 at a time, but 3 would be safer.

I don't really feel comfortable saying more without knowing what you are actually doing because it is just guesswork.
