Silicon is one element we are most unlikely to run out of so it is just manufacturing capacity that is lacking. Is this a ploy to increase the price?
Cynical? Moi?
That is like saying, there is plenty of trees, how is there a shortage of houses?

The capacity to make 99.99% silicon is useless.
Even the 99.9999% us useless.

Today 9N silicon is common and 12N is in the works means 12 nines or 99.9999999999%

Do you want to think how the word "trite" fits your claim, "it's just manufacturing capacity?"

Remember the hyped up talk about reaching "Peak OiI" in the 1990s?

However, if the oil companies can drill down 5 miles (or frack shallow wells), the silicon industry will figure out a way to keep up with demand.
