Dear All

I want a short circuit protection circuit. These are the following specification of the output. maximum current 150mA. Maximum voltage 12V. I have used a op amp-comparator for this purpose, but it is not working properly. Instead of acting like a switching circuit it is acting like a amplifier. The short circuit protection should not contains any electromechanical relay.

 

Would constant current work, or do you need current foldback?

 

I need constant current and the circuit should shutdown when any short circuit occur, for protecting the source.

 

This thread had a similar problem. I think we can do better, we kinda got sidetracked trying to explain how it worked. What specs do you need?
