Though I am familiar with kirchhoff's law and could solve most simple circuits, the following problem seems different. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Problem:
Four identical resistors ( R ) form 4 sides of a square. The ratio of the effective resistance between adjacent corners to that between opposite corner is

a) 4 R B ) R/4 c) 3R/4 d) 4R/3

Assume each resistor=R. The resistance across opposite corners = R+R in parallel with R+R. So resistance across corners = R

Between adjacent corners, R is in parallel with 3R (the other 3 resistors in series) = 3R/4

So the ratio = R:3R/4
