I'm seeking a laser range finder IC with similar functionality to the VL53L0X ToF laser ranging sensor , but with a visible light component so that you can tell what it's pointed at when working with small objects. Can anyone recommend something? The goal is 1-2mm resolution, 1200mm range, less than $10/ea for the IC. THe VL530L0X functions OK, you just can't tell which object it's measuring if there are multiple small objects near each other.

You could add an external visible laser diode and align it with the module laser spot.
You could possibly see the IR laser spot with a digital camera for alignment purposes.

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping to avoid anything requiring manual calibration in the event I end up making a bunch of these.
