Hi guys,

Can anyone help me design a scart to hdmi connector.

I want to come out of a old DVD player and into a hdmi connection. I know you can buy a box thing with a 5volt power to do this (cables don’t work), but can I make my own?
Does anyone know what sort of circuit design I need?
Is it easy to make one up?
Will I have the parts in my leftover bits and bobs.

Thanks

This is why I am trying to find out.
Why are they so expensive?
What are they actually made up with that costs £35?

Maybe tear down Tuesday can take one apart and tell us what’s inside!!

After spending the day trying to find a schematic for this, I still can’t find one.

How do they make the converter? Can I make one on my own?

Maybe this is posted in the wrong section to get only a reply.
Maybe I will just have to buy one!

SCART is an analog signal, HDMI is a digital signal. Your dealing with video signals which require specialized parts and construction techniques that the normal hobbyist won't have access to. Just buy one, you are not going to be able to make one.
