Hello,
I have a 10-bit SAR ADC implemented in 65nm operating at 100 KHz, am trying to simulate the SNR, SFDR and etc.
Now I know, I must input a sine wave and maybe sweep input frequency from DC to almost Fs/2 which is like 49 KHz+ for coherent sampling.
Firstly, all literature states that I must find the FFT of the output, but I don't seem to understand how since I have 10-bits in parallel as an output at the end of conversion, to which of the 10-bits do I perform the FFT? or do we calculate an equivalent value in some sort?
Secondly, the relation M/N = Ft / Fs is the condition for coherent sampling to avoid using windowing, now is putting an arbitrary value of like 49.3 KHz sufficient for my sine wave to get coherent sampling or not? and I know M must be an integer (number of cycles) but can someone elaborate on how to make sure I follow these conditions.
Lastly, I am running this in cadence and with parasitics I know it will take some time, what is a reasonable number of FFT points that I must take, and if I need to sweep the sine frequency, what is a good frequency resolution for the speed am operating at.
Thank you in advance!
