Hello Everyone,

I just joined this forum because I have been struggling to identify the connectors found in the Samsung Gear VR. This is the 2016 model (SM-R323), and I've been trying to identify these flat-type ribbon connectors so I can order some more connectors to wire myself. If anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Ben

Yow! Looks totally custom to me. Your best chance is to measure the, "pitch" distance between pin centers and row centers, and wait for more answers here. Do not refuse to consider millimeters or inches as the "standard".

Oh, wait...it's been 2 days. NFL
(Not Frankly Likely)

.4mm pitch on these connectors. Talked with Samsung support for 3+ hours, found out nothing. Joined Samsung support forums and reached directly out to admin, bingo. They have connection to Gear VR team and waiting back for response, admin RJONES also said they will make Gear VR sub thread. Got help from kellys_eye over at electronics point, he/she thought It was the DF37 series connector (found one on digikey.com). They also helped me find a break out board to DIP contacts over at proto-advantage.com, for anyone wanting to know in the future.

That's awfully friendly of you to give that information, considering what it cost you (in time) to obtain it.
I will ask the mods to include VR-37 connector in your title so it will be, "searchable".

@#12 How's that?
Thank you, but I'm not sure if people will understand what VR-37 means. If anything, I imagine this thread could now just be called "Gear VR Internal Components", as I continue contact with Samsung. I will keep updating as Gear VR team provides more specs.

Yeah.. I looked again at the connectors to realize that I was mixing things up. Updated title.
OK?
