Hi
I'm replacing a chip (first pic) but i can't find one with the exact same letters on it, i can only find chips with the first part RTD2270CLW. Could i use a chip like one in the second picture where the first part is the same? Sorry for my bad english IMG_20190428_202613 1.jpg RTD2270CLW-.jpg RTD2270CLW-.jpg

If that chip doesn´t require to be programmed, then it should be ok. The other numbers are things like datecode and batch number.
You got it right there - a basic functional chip is probably OK, but anything containing firmware is a whole nother can of worms.

When in the TV servicing trade; a large Hitachi came in with a corrupted 24Lxx EEPROM. The replacement didn't work, and it took a lot of digging to find out there'd been a firmware revision and the micro & ROM had to be replaced in matched pairs. The micro put it over the estimate and the set was returned to the customer unrepaired and at a loss to the shop. During the course of untangling the web of deceit, I ended up speaking to one of the besuited Australopithecus seat polishers at Hitachi UK, who indignantly informed me their aftersales care was second to none - I simply asked him: "so why are people bringing your crap to us for repair then?!!!".

There's a few other gotchas with chip numbers - clock speed is one of the obvious ones. There can also be functional variants.
