I bought a USB dongle from nooelec, on my computer (mac book pro) I installed some SDR software like cubic sdr and gqrx and both work fine, my problem is to extend the frequency range that actually is only 2 MHz.
Can I accomplish this with a swept rf scan? I am not interested in real-time analysis but only in what problem I have in 35 MHz range from 500 to 900

 

900MHz is a far cry from 2MHz. It is unlikely you will be able to get what you want.

2 MHz is the range, I need at least 35 mhz I read that with a swept signal i can accomplish that.

My dongle is the nooelec ndsr smart

The frequency range is 24MHz - 1.7GHz.

That's all you get for the price. If you want more you need software with the ability to auto-hop in 2 MHz blocks at a time for a scanner.

A simple SDR sequential scanner for Gqrx on the FM band. There are programs that can stitch the scanned displays into a continue ribbon.

There is something for mac? Can you give me a link to download from? I am new to all this and i see that that are alot of setup to make via dos or terminal.

 

This will give you accurate sweeps, but at significant cost increase.
