Hi,
I have problem doing this problem:
It is the problem #5 on the attachment.( I was not able to remove problem#4)

Please can you give me some guidance?
I know that for t>0( steady state) the inductor is like a short and the capacitor like an open circuit.

Do I need to replace the inductor by a short and cancel the part with the capacitor and then do a KVL and solve for V(t)?

Thank you
B

tell me is t>o a time between 0 and infinity (i;e where the circuits functions properly or is it the moment just after the closure of the switch (i have not kept touch with this for a long time now)
since u mention steady state probably the first assumption is correct.
IIRC in that case u should not open or short anything just solve with initial conditions which should be voltage across capacitor.

I think it is the 0 to infinity.
However, I was wondering if I need to study the case just before the switch closes.

Still vague.

yes the initial condition of the circuit comes into effect.
b4 closure there wud have been some voltage across cap u will need to take this into consideration.
but u dont need to modify the crkt (no short and open reqd-the components remain as they are)
u only need to write the v(T) using KVL for this circuit.
