Hi everyone! I have a resolver with 2 pole pairs, but i need this one with 5 pole pairs. I would like to replace the 2 pp rotor with the 5pp rotor. Does anyone know, how to determine the correct shape of the rotor? Are any artikles or books about this? I have the equipment to make such a new rotor, and I don't want to buy a new resolver because i have many 2pp rotors.

I need to control an electromotor PMSM, 10kW. The motor has 5 pole pair, so the resolver must have the same number of poles.

Does the motor presently have an encoder, shaft or thro-hole type?
I used to obtain an encoder with the commutation track on them from Renco Encoder, unfortunately they have since been taken over by Heidenhain so may be harder to get and/or more $$$'s.
There are other suppliers, It may be more effective and efficient to go this way if possible.
Resolvers are not so popular for this application now.
